Soul Punch Trainer Funnel

The funnel now works from ad to booked call, and it books calls at about $32 each. The biggest leak is the first step: only 1 in 5 landing page visitors opts in. The second leak is a long calendar form that asks for the same details twice.

Update · 20 October 2026, evening

What has been changed

Still to do: the "Aftaer" typo and the reviews on /apply sit in shared sections, so they need a quick edit in the builder. The Calendly form needs Gloria's login. The price line, cohort date, trainer photos and Gloria's video need her input. Two findings in the first version of this report were wrong and are corrected below: the mobile badge was there all along, and the "empty gap" was an image still loading.

All 10 booked calls Meta has ever recorded for this ad account landed in this week. Booking tracking was broken on 12 Oct and is now fixed. If the opt-in rate rose from 20% to 30% with booking rate unchanged, the same $322 would book about 15 calls instead of 10.

What is working

Seven lenses

The diagnosis

Pass

1 · Clarity

A cold visitor knows what this is in 5 seconds: a free training about becoming a certified women's self-defense trainer. The button says Watch the free training and the popup confirms Free 15-minute training. Nothing is hidden behind insider language.

Watch

2 · Credibility

Gloria's authority is strong: 18.5 years in law enforcement and 10,000+ women trained. The "Over 10,000 women trained" badge sits above the headline on desktop and mobile, which is right.

The proof is about the class, not about becoming a trainer. Most of the 15 reviews on /apply describe personal change. Only /methodology names three trainers (Jamie, Robin, Barbara), with no photos. One review is about Gloria fixing an order.

Two lines contradict each other: the stats say 1M+ women reached online while Gloria says My mission is to reach one million women. The word "Aftaer" is misspelled on /methodology and /book.

Watch

3 · Urgency

There is no reason to act today on any page. Real scarcity exists and is not used. There are 34 call times in the next 8 days (2 on Wednesday). The 3 in-person days with Gloria have limited seats.

Pass

4 · Headline

Free Training Reveals How You Could Become A Certified Women's Self-Defense Trainer And Help Make Your Community Safer names the outcome and the audience, and matches the ad. At 19 words it is long for a phone screen. The rewrites below are tighter.

Watch

5 · Awareness level

Most cold traffic is problem aware: women who worry about the women they love. The "Be careful isn't enough" section meets them there, which is right. The mechanism, "Peacefully Fierce", is named but never explained on the page. The closing copy drifts to a second reader: Maybe you want to feel more capable yourself. That speaks to a student, not a future trainer.

Kill

6 · Funnel stage

Opt-in step. The popup opens with no form for 1 to 3 seconds, then asks for name, email and phone to watch a free video. Result: 19.6% opt-in.

VSL page. The page ends on The Alignment Check Is How That Conversation Starts with no button. A woman who scrolls past the calendar to read the trainer stories has to scroll back up.

Calendar. On a phone the calendar is a box inside the page that scrolls on its own, and a cookie banner covers it first. Then it asks again for name and email she just gave. It asks for her phone twice. There are 4 open text boxes and 2 tick boxes. The page promises 5 quick questions, but there are 8 fields.

Tracking. /success fires the Schedule event every time it loads. A refresh, a revisit or a direct visit counts as a booking, and Meta optimises on that event. The pixel logged 45 Schedule events this week against 10 ad-attributed bookings. The Lead event fires when /methodology loads, not when the form is sent.

After booking. /success has good pre-call homework, but no "check your email for the Zoom link", no add-to-calendar button and no reminder to show up on time. Show rate is one of the goals of this engagement.

Watch

7 · Offer clarity

The ad explains the offer well: 6 weeks live online, 3 days in person, curriculum and scripts, first-class support. None of that appears on /apply or /methodology. It shows up again only on /success, after she has booked.

The booking form asks Financial readiness: pay in full/payment plan, but no page gives a price or even says it is a paid certification. That question arrives cold and can make her stop.

Mechanisms named: 1 main (Peacefully Fierce), plus the "alignment check" and "Trainer Journey" as process names. That is fine. Readers: 1 main (future trainer), with a second (student) creeping in on /apply. Keep it to one.

Ranked by impact, not ease

The fix list

1

Make the opt-in instant and lighter

Highest impact

Broken
The popup opens empty for 1 to 3 seconds, then asks for 3 required fields, phone included, to watch a free video. 80% of visitors leave here.
Fix
Put the form inline in the hero section on mobile so it is already loaded, or keep the popup but show a loading spinner. Make phone optional and label it Mobile (for your call reminder). Change the button under the form to Send Me The Free Training.
Expected
Opt-in from 20% to 28 to 35%. That is 4 to 7 more booked calls a week at the same spend.
2

Cut the calendar form in half

Highest impact

Broken
She re-types her name and email, gives her phone twice, and writes 4 short essays. The page promised 5 quick questions.
Fix
In Calendly, remove the "Send text messages to" box or the Phone question (keep one). Turn "Hours per week" into a dropdown (1 to 3 / 4 to 6 / 7+). Turn "Financial readiness" into a dropdown (Pay in full / Payment plan / Need to talk it through). Keep "Why do you want to teach women's safety?" as the one open question. Then prefill name and email from the opt-in. Add this script to the /methodology and /book header code, above the Calendly embed. First confirm the browser holds the opt-in details under _ud (DevTools, Application, Local Storage).
<script>
document.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded', function () {
  try {
    var u = JSON.parse(localStorage.getItem('_ud') || '{}');
    document.querySelectorAll('.calendly-inline-widget').forEach(function (w) {
      var url = new URL(w.dataset.url);
      if (u.full_name) url.searchParams.set('name', u.full_name);
      if (u.email) url.searchParams.set('email', u.email);
      if (u.phone) url.searchParams.set('a1', u.phone);
      w.dataset.url = url.toString();
    });
  } catch (e) {}
});
</script>
Expected
Booking rate from 50% toward 60 to 65% of opt-ins.
3

Count only real bookings

High impact

Broken
Schedule fires on every load of /success, so refreshes and direct visits count as bookings. The ad set optimises on Schedule, so bad data teaches Meta to find the wrong women.
Fix
On /methodology and /book, listen for Calendly's "booked" message and leave a one-time flag. On /success, fire Schedule only if the flag is there, with an event ID so browser and server events are not counted twice.
<!-- /methodology and /book: footer code -->
<script>
window.addEventListener('message', function (e) {
  if (e.origin === 'https://calendly.com' && e.data && e.data.event === 'calendly.event_scheduled') {
    var uri = (e.data.payload && e.data.payload.invitee && e.data.payload.invitee.uri) || '';
    try { sessionStorage.setItem('sp_booked', uri.split('/').pop() || String(Date.now())); } catch (x) {}
  }
});
</script>

<!-- /success: replace fbq('track','Schedule') with -->
<script>
try {
  var id = sessionStorage.getItem('sp_booked');
  if (id) { fbq('track', 'Schedule', {}, { eventID: id }); sessionStorage.removeItem('sp_booked'); }
} catch (x) {}
</script>
Expected
Clean booking data. Make one real test booking after the change and check it appears once in Events Manager. Move the Lead event from /methodology page load to the form submit at the same time.
4

Protect the show rate on /success

High impact

Broken
She lands on /success with homework but no steps to make sure she turns up.
Fix
Add a block under "Your Call With Gloria Is Confirmed": Step 1: Check your email now for your Zoom link (look in Promotions). Step 2: Add the call to your calendar. Step 3: Be on time. Gloria starts on the minute. Add a 60-second phone video of Gloria saying she is looking forward to meeting her. Split the stacked headline into a heading and a smaller line.
Expected
Fewer no-shows. Each extra call that shows up is worth more than any ad tweak at an 8 in 10 close rate.
5

Show the offer before the call

High impact

Broken
The program format is in the ad and on /success but missing from the two pages in between. The money question arrives with no context.
Fix
Add a short "How the Trainer Journey works" block to /apply (under the 4 bullets) and to /methodology (above the calendar): 6 weeks live online with Gloria · 3 days in person to certify · Curriculum, flyers and scripts included · Support until you have booked and taught your first class · Payment plans available. Whether to show the price is Gloria's call. "Payment plans available" alone makes the money question feel expected.
Expected
Fewer drop-offs at the financial question and better-qualified calls.
6

Close the VSL page with a button

Medium impact

Broken
The page ends with no next step.
Fix
Under Gloria Speaks With Every Woman Who Trains With Her, add a button Pick My Call Time With Gloria that scrolls back to the calendar.
Expected
Recovers women who scroll to the proof before deciding.
7

Swap review proof for trainer proof

Medium impact

Broken
The page sells becoming a trainer, but most reviews are about taking the class.
Fix
Move Jamie, Robin and Barbara to the top of the /apply reviews with photos and one fact each: years before Soul Punch, classes taught, women in her room. No income figures, to stay clear of Meta's earnings-claim rules. Drop the order-fix review. Then change the mission line to train one million women in person, so it no longer contradicts the 1M+ women reached online stat.
Expected
Removes the "could someone like me really teach this?" doubt before the opt-in.
8

Remove another client's testimonial

Medium impact

Broken
/success carried a hidden section left over from a page template: a video testimonial from Scott Weddell, Founder of Australia's fastest growing Digital Education Company. It was hidden, but one wrong click in the builder would have shown it to Gloria's buyers.
Fix
Delete the section.
Expected
No risk of an off-brand testimonial appearing after booking.
9

Use the urgency that is already real

Medium impact

Broken
Nothing says why to book this week.
Fix
Above the calendar: Gloria takes every call herself, so times are limited. Pick yours while this week is open. If there is a next in-person date, name it: Next 3-day certification: [date], [city]. Seats are limited to the room.
Expected
Faster bookings and fewer "I'll come back later" visitors.
10

Clean up loose ends

Medium impact

Broken
/methodology still loads a hidden second calendar ("Ways to work with Soul Punch") that sends bookers to soulpunchpro.com/find-trainer, where no booking is tracked. "Aftaer" is misspelled twice. /book duplicates /methodology without the video.
Fix
Delete the hidden calendar block. Fix the typo on /methodology and /book. Keep /book only for warm traffic such as email and retargeting.
Expected
A lighter page and no chance of the old untracked calendar coming back by accident.
